We are proud to announce the launch of the HOPE’87 Latin American Community Resilience Platform, an initiative designed to support locally led climate and livelihood solutions across Latin America.

This platform reflects our commitment to working alongside communities on the frontlines of climate change — empowering them not only to design and lead solutions, but also to test, refine, and scale innovative approaches rooted in their local realities.

🌱 Why this initiative matters

Rural and indigenous communities across Latin America are facing increasing climate, economic, and social challenges.

At HOPE’87, we believe that lasting solutions must be rooted in local leadership. At the same time, there is a critical need for structured spaces where communities can experiment with new ideas, adapt to changing conditions, and build evidence for what works.

This platform strengthens community-based organizations in Peru and Bolivia, enabling them to act as local innovation hubs for resilience.

🤝 What the platform does

The Latin American Community Resilience Platform brings together:

  • Community organizations with deep local roots
  • Technical partners providing expertise and support
  • Donors and collaborators committed to sustainable impact

Together, we are building a collaborative ecosystem that enables locally driven innovation, learning, and scaling of climate resilience solutions.

🌾 Key focus areas

The platform focuses on three core pillars:

Local Leadership- Supporting experienced organizations working directly with rural and indigenous communities.
Climate & Livelihood Resilience- Promoting sustainable agriculture, food security, and climate adaptation strategies.
Youth & Gender Empowerment- Expanding opportunities for women, adolescents, and young people in rural areas.

⚙️ How the platform works

At the heart of the platform are Community Innovation Hubs — locally embedded spaces hosted by partner organizations that enable communities to co-create and test solutions.

The platform supports locally led initiatives through:

  • Local Partnerships
Collaboration with trusted organizations in Peru and Bolivia that serve as innovation anchors within their communities.
  • Capacity Strengthening
Training, institutional support, and technical assistance to strengthen local organizations and their ability to lead innovation processes.
  • Pilot Projects
Funding innovative community-led solutions (typically USD 10,000–20,000) to test scalable approaches
  • Learning and Scaling
Documentation of results, cross-country exchange, and the development of replicable models that can be adapted across regions

🌍 Our partners on the ground

We are working with experienced organizations that have strong roots in their communities, including:

  • Asociación Kallpa – Peru
  • Instituto Politécnico Tomás Katari – Bolivia
  • Centro Juana Azurduy – Bolivia

These partners act as local innovation hubs, supporting women, youth, and indigenous communities to strengthen resilience and create sustainable opportunities.

📈 Expected impact

Through this platform, we aim to achieve:

  • Strengthened local organizations
  • Increased opportunities for youth and women
  • Improved climate resilience and livelihoods
  • Scalable and replicable models for other regions
  • A growing ecosystem of locally driven climate innovation

🌏 Looking ahead

The Latin American Community Resilience Platform represents a shift from traditional project-based support toward locally led innovation systems.

By investing in community innovation hubs, we aim to unlock local knowledge, accelerate learning, and scale solutions that are both sustainable and context-specific.

We look forward to expanding this initiative, deepening partnerships, and continuing to support communities in shaping their own resilient futures.
