In Bhutan, hundreds of houses, schools, government buildings and historic temples were destroyed within nine dzongkhags of southern Bhutan when a massive windstorm hit the country on Saturday, April 4th 2015. Roofs were blown off, windows were broken, countless trees were felled and the wind damaged many valuable belongings and cars. The crops being grown in the fields were left damaged and the local people at the affected districts were left without proper shelter.

A relief team was set up by the government of Bhutan that was working constantly to help the victims by providing shelter, food and clothes. HOPE’87 Bhutan/Remoen supported the relief activities by contributing blankets and clothes for affected families.
