The “Raise your hand” project, funded by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research, aims to strengthen the education system in the long term and contribute to inclusive, quality education in Burkina Faso and Mali.
The project has enabled the construction and renovation of infrastructure essential to the smooth running of schools, colleges and lycées, as well as the equipping of classrooms, training centres and educational partners with computers. In addition, workshops were organised in Burkina Faso (Koloko) and Mali (Finkolo and Sikasso) to improve the knowledge of teachers and educational partners, and an HIV/AIDS awareness and information programme was set up for pupils in both countries.
The results of this project have far exceeded expectations! All those involved in education are now determined to improve the quality of education in both countries and make it more inclusive by purchasing the necessary equipment and meeting the needs of disadvantaged groups.
