Today, the International Day of Education is celebrated around the World!

The “Mobile Quality School (MQS)” is a flexible school initiative using buses as „travelling class-rooms”, providing quality primary school and education services to underprivileged children in Dhaka and Chittagong districts of Bangladesh. The project, initiated in 2018 with the financial support of “ZF hilft” and the YOU Foundation – Education for Children in Need (Germany), aims to provide smaller classes and individualised attention to students who are left behind in the public education system. The MQS buses are equipped with educational materials, a first aid box, a television, a laptop and leisure time sports equipment. The buses drive daily to four or five different mobile school stations in or next to slum areas, remaining for three hours at each station. The project offers a flexible and dynamic learning system in the streets, allowing even the poorest children to pursue their education from grade one to five. In the last year, 614 students (56% girls and 44% boys) have received education at the MQS in Dhaka and Chittagong district, including co-curricular activities and health check-ups. 36 students have graduated from mobile schools at grade five, enabling them to continue secondary education at any regular school.
