The “Beydari Keebal Rewbé – Increasing women’s agricultural production” project, implemented in the communes of Mampatim and Médina Chérif, is aimed primarily at women living in rain-fed agriculture, which is affected by climate change.
HOPE’87, with financial support from the City of Vienna, is helping to improve food security and combat poverty by proposing measures to encourage the introduction of new short-cycle seed varieties. These seed varieties offer real opportunities to increase agricultural productivity in the south-east of the country in the context of climate change, while accompanying their dissemination with an appropriate strategy to promote good agricultural practices.
The project thus contributes to improving an efficient, safe and quality food production system for women, by developing sustainable livelihoods that resist the effects of climate change, using quality, high-yield seeds adapted to climate change, and increasing the value of local produce through processing and preservation.
