In Kolda, HOPE’87-Senegal, in cooperation with the YOU Foundation, is implementing a project to improve the care of hearing-impaired children at the Kolda Regional Hospital.
This project aims to care for children aged 5 to 15 years with hearing disabilities by ensuring correction of hearing, speech and demutization, allowing them a harmonious integration into the environment as autonomous individuals who are capable of communicating with those around them without gestures. This is achieved through screening activities, the provision of hearing-aids as well as awareness-raising and training of children and parents.
The project has just ended its first phase of implementation and is now starting with Phase II, aiming to reach even more hearing-impaired children and their parents.
