On June 18th, celebrations for World Refugee Day were also held in the city of Balti, in the Republic of Moldova. The event was organised by the City Hall of Balti and a large number of active non-governmental organisations. The organisation SPERANTA 87 Moldova, in cooperation with HOPE’87, actively participated in the celebrations of this wonderful holiday. It was nice to see so many joyful faces of adults and children who had experienced terrible things during their flight from Ukraine and who finally landed in hospitable Moldova, where the local population and NGOs welcomed them in at such a difficult time.

SPERANTA 87 was awarded an honorary diploma by the mayor’s office for its commitment and help to the refugees. This help was only possible with the support of many international partners, such as the Austrian Development Agency (ADA).
