Sport is an important means to connect to each other and gives hope also in difficult situations. Especially for the youth, the importance of community sports for identity formation cannot be underestimated. Therefore, HOPE’87 founded this project with the objective to establish a cross-border project in Koloko (Burkina Faso) and in Finkolo (Mali), which contributes to the improvement of the physical and sporting development of pupils with a view to promoting friendship and strengthened social cohesion within the communities of both countries. Furthermore, every girl and boy should be guaranteed the right to practice sports.

The project also contributes to the “2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development” through sports as a facilitating and sustainable development tool which establishes peace and promotes tolerance and respect.
