Project Description:

Implemented during 18 months and completed on the 30th of June 2011, the project supported 52 Village Development Councils (CVD) in the Central Region of Burkina Faso, with the aim to promote local development and reduce poverty in the region. After the termination of the project, the CVDs are well known in all the villages, identify problems, offer ideas for solutions, develop project ideas and seek for donors for their projects. The CVDs also learned how to plan, implement, monitor and control these projects independently. As a result, the revitalization of the CVDs enabled the implementation of various projects funded by different donors, such as the Local Fund for Poverty Reduction or the FAO.
