West Africa: 20 million people threatened by hunger crisis in the Sahel region

Ouagadougou - Many households have still not recovered from the consecutive severe food and nutrition crises of the last decade, and yet again 20 million people across the Sahel region of West Africa face malnutrition and hunger.

Secretary General Robert Ottitsch on mission to Senegal

HOPE’87 Secretary General Robert Ottisch, together with UNESCO Special Ambassador Dr. Ute Henriette Ohoven, her daughter Claudia Jerger and journalist Heinz Suender, are currently on mission in Senegal, visiting several joint projects of HOPE’87 and the UNESCO Foundation for Children in Need in Dakar, the capital of Senegal and in the rural province Casamance.

Designated Country Representative for Bhutan for training in Vienna

In October 2013, HOPE’87 Secretary General Robert Ottitsch went on a fact-finding mission to the Royal Kingdom of Bhutan to look into cooperation opportunities in the sector of youth education and development. This is when he met Ms Karma Yangdon, a Bhutanese woman, who was greatly interested in the work of HOPE’87 and possible joint activities.
