General Assembly - 20 years of HOPE'87

On October 15th, 2008 the General Assembly of HOPE'87 took place at theHaus-, Hof- und Staatsarchiv ("Royal Archives") in Vienna. The meeting was held under the title "HOPE'87 - 20 Years of Service" andattracted such a great number of members, donors, partners and well-wishersthat seats got scarce very quickly... 

Re-collecting the sad memories of the disaster in Bangladesh - Photography competition and exhibition in Dhaka to raise awareness and preparedness

Cyclone SIDR hit Bangladesh on 15th November 2007 and caused severe damage in the coastal region with a death toll of approximately 8,000 people. In this view HOPE’87 Bangladesh wants to re-collect the sad memories of the disaster in order to raise awareness and preparedness with domestic resources.

HOPE'87 Emergency Relief Operations 2007/2008 for cyclone victims in Bangladesh

More then 3000 people were recently killed in Bangladesh by the devastating cyclone "Sidr", leaving hundreds of thousands of inhabitants homeless. People lost their property, their belongings, their crops and all means to survive. Up to 90 percent of the region's rice crop was devasted, which will lead to a huge scarcity of food in the months to come.
