The situation in the Sahel region remains alarming; warnings by international organisations persist that there is little time left to prevent a disaster 15 million people are facing.

Humanitarian Relief "SAHEL 2012"

The Sahel Region of Burkina Faso is going through two major crises since the beginning of the year 2012. The first one is the food crisis that had been predicted since the end of the past rainy season with its very low precipitation.

SAHEL - Burkina Faso declares crisis

The Sahel region is facing a severe food and nutrition crisis with an estimated 15 million people at risk of food insecurity and more than 1 million children at risk of acute severe malnutrition. Among other countries Burkina Faso has called for national and international solidarity.  

First Humanitarian Congress in Vienna 2011 - a great success!

On 21st October 2011 the First Humanitarian Congress took successfully place at the University of Vienna, Austria.  The high number of participants and the agitated discussions during the conference sessions reflected the up-to-dateness and the brisance of this topic.

ECHO Annual Conference

On 18th and 19th of October 2011 HOPE'87 participated for at the ECHO Annual Conference at the EC in Brussels. The Conference focussed on new challenges in the field of humanitarian aid and on how to address them collectively.
