AcCESS project: Reopening of schools in Pakistan in the context of the COVID-19 crisis

In Pakistan, the schools reopened on the 30th of September 2020 to welcome the students after a gap of more than six months due to the coronavirus pandemic. Only half of the children attend the classes on alternate days of the week.

In response to COVID-19, the government of Pakistan closed down all educational institutions from March 2020 until 14th September, 2020. The federal minister for education announced to re-open the country’s educational institutions in various phases from 15th September, 2020 to 30th September, 2020 if the situation allows to do so.
