The RECOUVRER project in Western Africa is in progress!

HOPE’87 has joined forces with six other Austrian NGOs – CARITAS Austria, the Red Cross, Light for the World, Horizont3000, Jugend Eine Welt and ICEP – to develop a programme covering interventions in Burkina Faso and Senegal. It focuses on strengthening the resilience of vulnerable people in West Africa in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.

International Day of Sport for Development and Peace!

Today, on April 6th we celebrate the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace! The adoption of this Day signifies the increasing recognition by the UN of the positive influence that sport can have on the advancement of human rights and social and economic development and recognizes the positive role sport plays in communities across the globe.

The work of our “COVID-19 Check Unit” is in progress!

In October, HOPE’87, in cooperation with the City of Vienna, has started a project in the border region of Burkina Faso and Mali with the overall objective of preventing and controlling COVID-19 in the area.

No war, no nukes!

Our humanitarian aid project for Ukrainian refugees in the Republic of Moldova is starting!

Since the beginning of the war in the Ukraine, many people who had to leave the Ukraine for fear of their lives are fleeing to Western Europe or to the neighboring country of Moldova. They are often on foot and have only a few private belongings with them. Due to the existing compulsory military service for men between 18 and 55 years, often only women with children or elderly people come.

The internally displaced people and their children of the Paletwa camps in Myanmar are so happy!

Our project that aimed at fighting against COVID-19 for the children of the IDPs in Paletwa by providing humanitarian assistance has recently terminated!

Throughout the project, HOPE’87 helped to ensure a coordinated approach to provide water, sanitation and hygiene as well as to respond to the nutrition and health needs of the internally displaced populations.
