UNESCO Special Ambassador Dr Ute Ohoven visits the Republic of Moldova in company of the HOPE’87 Secretary General, Mr Robert Ottitsch

From 4-8 March 2018, UNESCO Special Ambassador Dr Ute Ohoven paid a visit to the Republic of Moldova. The visit was organised by Dr Luminita Drumea, who is the Country Director of HOPE’87-Moldova/Speranta and the Deputy Secretary General of the National Commission for UNESCO, Republic of Moldova.

HOPE’87's Secretary General showed Mme Ohoven the educational projects that were generously financed previously by her foundation, the YOU Foundation-Education for Children in Need.

Ambassador Ohoven and the Secretary General of HOPE’87 also engaged in fruitful talks with the State Secretary for Education, Ms Angela Cutasevici, the State Secretary for Youth, Mr Radu Rebeja, the Advisor of the President of the Republic of Moldova on Education, Culture and Science, Dr Corneliu Popovici, as well as Ms Olesea Tanasoglo, the Vice President of the Executive Committee of the Autonomous Region of Gagauzia.

These talks provided valuable information of the strategies of the Republic of Moldova to strengthen its educational and youth sector and to evaluate the possibilities of a further cooperation between the YOU Foundation, the HOPE’87 Network and the government agencies. 

UNESCO Special Ambassador Dr Ute Ohoven showed her satisfaction and great joy about the results achieved so far by the HOPE’87 Network and agreed with the HOPE’87 Secretary General on a number of new activities to be started in a short while…
