Sport for development… a project financed by the Austrian Ministry of Sports

A cross-border cooperation between two villages in the West African countries of Mali and Burkina Faso will bring together youth in the peaceful competition of basketball and volleyball.

We are very happy to report that the Austrian Ministry of Sports has approved funding for the construction of two ball courts in Finkolo (Mali) and in Koloko on the other side of the border in Burkina Faso, in order to foster education and intercultural relations.

The project will not only provide two ball courts according to international norms, but also equip the teams of two villages, organise two summer camps and inter-village championships, and enable the intercultural exchange between the two rural communities to strengthen social cohesion by preparing two exchange fora, one in each community.
