Participation at the Fifth Humanitarian Congress in Vienna

The Fifth Humanitarian Congress will take place on March 29, 2019 under the title "The Future of Humanitarian Aid" in the banqueting halls of the main building of the University of Vienna.

This event will address questions such as "Which partnerships are needed for long-term solutions? How can politics, institutions and aid organizations sustainably contribute to humanitarian solutions? Is Humanitarian Aid well prepared in regards to these questions of the future?" amidst the 134 million people currently seeking humanitarian assistance and protection worldwide.

The Foreign Minister of Austria, Karin Kneissl, will give a welcome speech and then the opening panel with Mark Lowcock, Under Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, OCHA, Peter Maurer, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle, Archbishop of Manila and President of Caritas International, will discuss the future of Humanitarian Aid. A total of 33 high-ranking speakers are expected on the day of the congress.

HOPE'87 will personally provide information on its projects at an infopoint and demonstrate its contribution to humanity through a visual performance show.
