International Conference of NGOs in Official Relation with UNESCO

From 15th to 17th of December 2014 the Secretary General of HOPE'87, Mr Robert Ottitsch, participated in the International Conference of NGOs in official relation with UNESCO, held at UNESCO HQ in Paris. 

This conference brought together a large number of organizations that enjoy either consultative or associate status with UNESCO. HOPE'87 is in official relation with UNESCO since 1991 and enjoys consultative status since 2012.

Held every two years, this international conference revises the work carried out by the NGO Liaison Committee, elects a new President and new members of the Committee as well as discusses and decides upon a new two-years strategy.

In her speech to the conference UNESCO Director-General, Ms Irina Bokova, expressed the deep gratitude of UNESCO to the numerous NGOs for their dedicated work  to sensitize and mobilize civil society organizations around UNESCO’s values and priorities both internationally and locally.

The Secretary General of HOPE'87 also used his presence in Paris to meet with the Permanent Delegate of Austria to UNESCO, H.E. Ambassador Harald Stranzl as well as with Senior UNESCO Secretariat staff members.
