Giving Tuesday: Support education for children in Pakistan

Amna Bibi is a 10-year-old girl from the district Dera Ismail Khan, Khyber Pukhtunkhwa Province (KP) in Pakistan who has aspired for a long time to go to school in her village. However, her parents are beggars and make ends meet, and with all the financial problems the family has to suffer, Amna was not able to make her wish come true until now.

Instead, from a very young age, she had to work long hours in the fields, in the hot summer sun as well as in winter time with frozen fingers to help her family to survive…until a trained field officer and a feeder teacher from the project "Access for Out of School Children to Education and Safe Schools in Pakistan" (AcCESS) visited her home and convinced her father to enroll her in school. And so Amna joined a Community Feeder School in New Faqir Abad, in the district of DI Khan - and she simply loves it!

Currently, Amna is in 2nd class and is eager to acquire more knowledge...sometimes she even reads two books at the same time - “I have to catch up”, she says with a shy smile. Her teachers are paying special attention to her well-being and ensure that she is able to follow the classes and to do her homework.

If you would like to bring a smile on the face of a child and to support children like Amna in Pakistan to receive an education for a brighter future and to achieve their dreams, please donate to the project on Giving Tuesday:
