General Assembly of HOPE'87

On October 12th the annual General Assembly of HOPE'87 took place at the Haus-, Hof- und Staatsarchiv ("Royal Archives") in Vienna. This year's meeting marked the 20th anniversary of the tenure of the Secretary General of HOPE'87.

The Secretary General of HOPE'87 informed the General Assembly about the positive development of the organisation and about the record revenues in 2010, which was even better news after a financially difficult stretch in 2009.

HOPE'87 was supporting 31 projects in 14 countries in the year 2010. The traditional goals of youth training and employment have also being increasingly pursued by more innovative vehicles within the scope of wider EC Calls. The positive financial developments have partly been a result of successful bids for ECHO Calls and EU Multi-Country Calls. However, the process of establishing new Branch Offices has been slowed down for the time being to allow for a consolidation period.

The General Assembly approved all reports and expressed its support of the Board and the General Secretariat of HOPE'87.
