2009-09-29

What we will do

The programme consists therefore of an educational, an income generating and of a water/sanitation as well as of a health component. 15 village schools for 500 children will be built, literacy classes for adults will be offered. A Boarding Middle School will host those who come from far away. Two skills training centres and a micro-credit system will contribute to a sustainable income of the people living in the Chittagong Hill Tracts.
Lack of clean water hinders children to attend school as they fall sick quite often and their mothers have to stay at home, caring for the child, thus not being able to earn a decent living. 30 villages will be supplied with fresh drinking water by constructing ring wells and water supply systems. A central Health Station as well as a Mobile Health Care System, consisting of doctors, medical personnel and midwives contributes to secure basic medical infrastructure and supply.
