Support for quality education through ICT gender sensitive tool

The goal of this project is to promote gender equality in the Republic of Moldova through creating gender-sensitive education online tools, such as online informative lectures dedicated to gender equality issues, including stereotypes, feminism, discrimination, sexual harassment or youth leadership. These online informative lectures where then uploaded to YouTube in order to be used by all interested persons. Furthermore, the project helped to strengthen the capacity of school teachers to use online tools.

Smile at nature - save the bee

Every year on the 20th of May, the World Bee Day is celebrated in order to underline the importance of bees for humanity and bring attention to the protection of bees as well as other pollination species. In this context the project “Smile at nature – save the bee” was implemented by PEDAM in order to develop bee-based trades in Moldova. The aim of this project is to raise awareness among students on the importance of environmental protection and the conservation of bees and other pollination species in order to protect the ecosystem.

Center for children and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds for recreational activities and training "VOSTOK”

Currently, there are 5,000 children aged three to 18 years old with special educational needs in the city of Grigoriopol. Due to the urgent need of a specialised educational and recreational centre for them, the local public administration has allocated the building of the former cinema “Vostok” for these purposes.

Everyone has the right to a happy future

This project’s aim is to help the Moldovan educational authorities to assure and promote equal access to education, good living conditions and social benefits for children in difficult life situations and with special educational needs. Therefore, the "Republican Specialized Children's Home" was opened, which hosts 59 children, out of which 24 have special educational needs.

Together in the fight against the socio-economic effects of the Covid-19 pandemic in Moldova and Burkina Faso

To address the socio-economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in the Republic of Moldova and Burkina Faso, HOPE'87 and its partner, the Austrian Federal Ministry of Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection, initiated the project "Together in the fight against the socio-economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic in Moldova and Burkina Faso". The project was launched in July 2021 for an overall period of 18 months and is based on combined efforts for the two developing nations that are suffering from the COVID-19 pandemic and its effects.


Seven Austrian NGOs – HOPE'87, the Red Cross, Light for the World, Horizont3000, Jugend Eine Welt and ICEP under the leadership of CARITAS Austria – have joined forces to develop a programme covering interventions in Burkina Faso and Senegal. It focuses on strengthening the resilience of vulnerable people in West Africa in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, with actions having started in November 2020. The programme will last for a period of 3 years.

Job twinning and assistance for small businesses in Baraka

This job training project for the Baraka craftsmen was initiated by United Teams, the strategic alliance of the YOU Foundation and HOPE’87, and is financed by the German “Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit” (GIZ). The project, which is implemented within the framework of the construction of the new Cité Baraka, aims to strengthen the beneficiaries regarding the creation of income generating activities and to contribute to an improved employability and higher quality of production and services as part of economic value creation in Baraka.

Supply of drinking water

The general objective of the project was to contribute to the SDG 6: Providing acces to clean water and sanitation in Senegal. The construction of two wells helped the respective villages of Saré Beydari and Kouthiera in the community of Mampatim Kolda Senegal.

DIGI 4 Baraka

The DIGI 4 Baraka project, which is a continuation and extension of the Baraka IT Centre, is supported by the YOU Foundation – Education for Children in Need through its partner, the German Association for Small and Medium-sized Businesses (BVMW Germany). This project is currently implemented in the Liberté VI Baraka district in the commune of Sicap Liberté in the department of Dakar in Senegal.

Smart and Intelligent Learning in Education (SmILE)

The SmILE project’s overall objective is to contribute to the achievement of inclusive and equitable quality education and the promotion of lifelong learning opportunities for all (SDGs 4, 5 and 10) in Pakistan. The specific objective of the project is to promote quality education and thus improve higher order thinking and science learning in 24 government secondary schools of ESED through blended online learning with face-to-face instruction.
