The initiative “Nosso Jogo” devoted itself to the values of fair play, cultural and social liberty and equality. In order to fight the predominant ignorance and injustice shown in the course of the events surrounding the FIFA World Cup, Nosso Jogo launched a petition addressing FIFA, the Olympic committee, the Brazilian government, the Austrian Olympic committee and the Austrian football association.

Bangladesh: Dola Para primary school

Dola Para is a remote village in Bandarban Hill district, which is only reachable by four wheel Jeep and a 30 minutes foot-walk. So far, there has never been a school building in the village. Daily school classes and lessons were conducted outside and therefore depended very much on the weather conditions.

Mali/Burkina Faso: Caravan of Hope

In October 2013, the village of Koloko in the province of Kénédougou in Burkina Faso hosted the educational and cultural “Caravan of Hope”, which aims to strengthen the capacities of rural women and women’s organisations in the area as well as in the province of Sikasso in Mali. This initiative was launched by HOPE’87 in cooperation with the UNESCO in order to raise awareness about different topics concerning especially women.

Bangladesh: Rana Plaza building collapse - One year later

On the 24th of April 2013 the Rana Plaza, a nine-storied building comprising several garment manufactories on the outskirts of Dhaka, collapsed, killing more than 1.100 people who had been ordered back to work even though huge cracks were discovered in the building’s walls.

Peru: Improving child care and early education practices

With support from HOPE'87's Regional Office for Latin America, the partner Association Kallpa implemented a project in Peru to improve the quality of life of young children under the age of five in the local community “24 de Diciembre” located in he district of San Juan de Lurigancho.
